TEXAS REGIONAL BANK RECRUITS PAUL S. MOXLEY AS NEW CHIEF EXECUTIVE OFFICER

Texas Regional Bank announces the appointment of McAllen native Paul S. Moxley as Chief Executive Officer and a member of the Board of Directors effective August 1, 2012. Mr. Moxley was recruited by Texas Regional Bank to continue the growth vision of the company, and will assume the role from interim CEO Michael F. Scaief. Mr. Scaief will remain as Chairman and continue to develop the strategic initiatives of the company.

Mr. Moxley has led a distinguished banking career serving the residents, of the Rio Grande Valley. Moxley began his career in 1970 with McAllen State Bank. In 1986 he joined Texas State Bank, McAllen, Texas where he served as President and Director and Executive Vice President of Texas Regional Bancshares, Inc. In 2006 with in excess of $7 billion in assets and 72 branches, Texas State Bank sold to BBVA, Spain. Mr. Moxley continued his service with BBVA as President and Regional Manager for South Texas and Regional Manager of commercial business until his retirement in July 2011.
Mr. Moxley has a long history of civic and community involvement and currently serves as President of the McAllen Country Club. Mr. Moxley has served on the Board of Directors of the McAllen Economic Development Corporation, President of the McAllen Health Facilities Development Corporation, director and Chairman of the Texas Bankers Association and Treasurer, President and director of the Easter Seals Rio Grande Valley chapter. He is a past Chairman of Pharr United Way, the Boys and Girls Club of McAllen, the McAllen Traffic Commission and the McAllen and Pharr Chambers of Commerce. He has been a member of the McAllen Rotary Club, McAllen Chamber Greeters and the Jaycees. Mr. Moxley has also served as a member of the State Bar of Texas working with District 12-B Grievance Committee. He has been honored for his community service by the Muscular Dystrophy Association and received the Distinguished Citizen Award from the Boys Scouts of America.
An avid outdoorsman, he was elected in to the Rio Grande Valley Sports Hall of Fame for his achievements as a football player with McAllen High School, Trinity University and the San Antonio Toros.
