Michael Lamon Appointed COO

Michael LamonTexas Regional Bank is proud to announce it has appointed Michael Lamon as Chief Operations Officer (COO).  Michael was Texas Regional Bank’s first employee, starting in 2010, as the Harlingen Market President. Louie Tijerina, Senior Vice President, will take over as the Harlingen Market President.
In addition to maintaining his lending portfolio, Michael will lead operations to continue to align our banking solutions to best serve the needs of Texas Regional Bank customers.  He will oversee Customer Support Services, Information Technology, Mobile and Digital platforms, Branch Operations, and Bank Security.  “I’ve had the pleasure of working with the great team in Harlingen but am excited to move into this new role to drive our customer focus solutions and growth plans, it is truly an honor be part of such a dynamic team and to have such an opportunity,” said Michael.
Michael, a Harlingen native, brings 22 years of banking experience to the COO position.  Michael is a graduate of Texas A&M University with a BS in Economics and minor in Finance.  He began his banking career with Texas Commerce Bank in 1992 in Houston, Texas. In 2004, Michael joined Texas State Bank in Harlingen where he managed a portfolio in excess of $100 million dollars.
Texas Regional Bank is headquartered in the Rio Grande Valley. Texas Regional Bank began operations in 2010 with $34 million in assets and one location.  Today the bank’s assets are in excess of $450 million, supported by nine locations throughout the Valley and Falfurrias, and offers full service banking, Trust and Wealth Management solutions.  By early fall the bank will open its tenth location in Weslaco, Texas.
